    Good hiking trails, lovely beaches and abundant camp sites (approximately 365) are featured at Awenda Provincial Park. The many recreational options in the park include canoeing, swimming, and cross-country skiing.

    Hill-Billy Hack Animal Sanctuary and Riding Stable

    Once unloved, the residents of Hill-Billy Hack Animal Sanctuary now enjoy life. The population is varied, ranging from farm animals such as horses, pot-bellied pigs and llamas, to lizards, cockatoos and emus. Visitors may view the animals, go on a trail ride or stay for a campfire.

    The Falconry Centre

    Watch the centuries old art of falconry at the Falconry Centre. Outdoor shows are held in a medieval courtyard, which houses over 200 falcons, hawks, eagles, owls, and vultures. Shows are held daily from mid-May until mid-October.

    Georgian Trail
    This lovely 35 km (22 mi) long trail can be accessed in Collingwood and spreads all the way to Meaford. Suitable for walkers, joggers, cross-country skiers or bikers, the path is well marked to indicate road names and amenities. Benches are available for rests along the route.     Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre

    This site is dedicated to the conservation of the wetlands, wildlife and woodlands of the area. Wye Marsh is home to many species of birds and wildlife, including trumpeter swans. The centre is open daily, and regular programs for families are held.

    Harbourview Park
    Harbourview Park, at the base of First Street and the Collingwood harbour, boasts a winding boardwalk with stunning views. The park features areas where visitors can learn about the environment as well as a play area. Boat launching facilities are on site.

    Wasaga Beach Provincial Park

    Wiggle the toes in sand in the summer, or zip along on the cross-country trails in the winter at this provincial park. Wasaga Beach is famous for being the longest freshwater beach in the world, measuring a grand 14 km. There are eight beach areas with day use facilities. Of particular interest is the Nancy Island Historical Site, situated on Nancy Island, which was formed from the silt remaining on the top of a sunken naval vessel.

    Sibbald Point Provincial Park

    Located east of Barrie along the shores of Lake Simcoe is Sibbald Point. This recreational area is suitable for all ages, as it has sandy beaches, treed hiking trails and picnic spots. The area was home to the Sibbald family for 130 years. Visitors may tour the Sibbald manor Eildon Hall (circa 1800s) and St. George church, the family church.

    Muskoka Wildlife Centre

    Where abandoned and injured animals receive a second chance, the Muskoka Wildlife Centre isn't a conventional zoo, but rather an interactive learning park where individuals can interact with a variety of animals. Some of the animals on-hand includes wolves, all kinds of wild cats, black bears, fox's, turtles and more.

    Earl Rowe Provincial Park is located just north of Alliston. It is a destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts alike.     Mara Provincial Park

    One of Lake Simcoe's finest beaches is located in Mara Provincial Park. Swimmers, anglers and boaters congregate here during the warmer seasons. A campground with 108 sites is also in the park.

    Heritage Park in Barrie
    Situated on the banks of Kempenfelt Bay, this waterfront park contains polychromatic vegetation and plenty of green spots for a picnic. Visitors can dock their boats, walk the trails or enjoy the sandy beach. A short walk away are interesting shops and restaurants. Attractions by the park include the Serendipity Princess cruise boat and the Spirit Catcher statue.

    Craigleith Provincial Park

    This provincial park is at the base of Blue Mountain, on the shores of the Georgian Bay. Some of the rocks of this Niagara Escarpment area contain invertebrate fossils as old as 455 million years. There are 172 campsites in the park, some with electrical hook-ups.

    Bear Creek Wildlife Sanctuary

    This non-profit organization is involved with wildlife rescue and rehabilitation and provides a home for endangered species. Animals that can be seen at the sanctuary include black bears, tigers, lions, wolves and more.

    Elmvale Jungle Zoo

    Tudhope Park
    Tudhope Park contains 62 acres of lovely land, as well as Moose Beach, which boasts superb swimming in Lake Couchiching. There are change rooms at the park as well as several walking trails and flower gardens. The Jerry Udell baseball diamond, and Barnfield Point Recreation Centre with six sheets of ice for curling and conference facilities are also on site.
