Thornbury Specialty Attractions

Thornbury Fishway also known as "The Fish Ladder" is a popular attraction among visitors and locals alike. Located in central Thornbury, the fishway can be seen from Highway 26, if entering Thornbury from the east. Visitors here can view fish swimming and leaping against the current as they head up river to spawn (rainbow trout in the spring, salmon in the fall). There is also an underwater camera and sensor at the fishway to track the type and number of fishway. Best time to visit is in the spring and in the fall.
